Happy Sweet Friday!
From the Random Department – Did you know that it’s National Dessert Month? Where I’m from, EVERY month is National Dessert Month. So I’m going to ignore that declaration. However, what if you could only have dessert just one moth out of the year? Would you eat dessert each day of that month? Think long and hard because it will be E.L.E.V.E.N. months before your eat another dessert. It’s a thought. A random thought, but a thought, nevertheless!
Anyhoo, let’s talk about the Sift! Dessert Tasting. It was the first, and I was beyond pleased. Sift! is coming to life before my eyes, and in amazing proportion. I wanted to celebrate a year in business with a taste-testing dessert bar for all who could make it out to see us. It was perfect – period, and so much fun! The lovely ladies of Project Duo (Hey Girls!) made their artistic presence known for which I am forever grateful. I love them!
Next year, I want even more desserts!
On another note, I am quite shy. Meet me, and that may not be your impression. Yet, I am definitely the “behind the scenes” kind of person. So getting in front of everyone at the tasting was particularly challenging – at first. Everyone was so kind and receptive that I immediately felt at home. Desserts are known for easing tension of all kinds from acquainting strangers to calming belligerent drunks. So there was never really anything to worry about anyway. With that said, I want to thank everyone that came out. I offer my sincerest gratitude for your interest and support in me, my business, and my passion. The kind words of encouragement went a very long way. I appreciate it. Nuffa that!
With the help of some very important people (you know who you are!), the event was a success and I cannot wait to throw this sweet schindig again next year, and every year for many, many, many years to come! The combination of good music, food, and people always equate to a magical time.
See for yourself!
By the way, everyone looked so nice.
Okay, here I am. So very nice to meet you.
I nearly burned my fingers off trying to dodge this photo. Once I realized my fingers were okay, I smiled. Just thought you should know.
Penelope made it to the party, but was gone before I could take a second look, or get a sexy pin-up photo for all of her fans. If you haven’t tried Penelope and are a fan of pineapple and coconut flavors, then you’re missing out.
The dessert table included Harvest Krispies (a spicy krispie treat), and Triple Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies.

Now known as the “Porto Pie King”, this man LOVES LOVES LOVES Porto Pie! No, really. It was a BIG hit.
We served these FRESH from the oven! Needless to say, they did not stay on the bar very long.
Little do these two know, they’re one of my favorite couples. I believe they’re getting married in March. In 50 years, people will say “They are THE sweetest couple!” I think they make each other sweeter.
This dessert was gone in less than 15 minutes! It’s a Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse Tart. How can anyone resist?! I was debating whether or not to add it to the menu. It received an overwhelmingly warm response. It’s now on the menu at www.SiftAtlanta.com.
Everyone wet their whistles with these flavored waters. The perfect compliment to everything on the dessert bar.
This lady is thanking God for my skills.
