Sift! Taste Test on Wheels!

Happy Spring, Sugar Lumps! There are few things that compare to the joy of this whole “Desserting” thing. It’s tough. It’s fun. It smells good. And even for the times that things fall apart (oh the “I cried then but am laughing now” kind of stories I could tell you), it’s pictures like these that provide the confirmation I was working for all along.

As many of you know, I conducted a Taste Test on Wheels last week, and it was an absolute success. Thank you to everyone that participated. You tasted. You tested, and hopefully you’ll be back for more. The gorgeous photos were taken by Janet of Janet Howard Studios and the darling stationary is by Sarah of Foglio Press! Check out Janet’s breathtaking and oh so flattering synopsis on her blog.

This is how it worked. I begged you guys to please, please, pretty please taste some new desserts for me via Facebook and Twitter. I whipped, molded, chocolatized, and frosted, and then brought it to you. Simple, right? I saved the prettiest parts just for you…

These desserts have true personality.

Let’s get started, but, oh good green toenails! Where do I begin?!

Here’s the box all prettied up and personalized for each individual “Official Taste Tester”.  Thank you, Sarah!

Go! Go! Go, Foglio!

Lemon Meringue Cheesecake – Pretty thang, ain’t she?

She’s also quite heavy! Be sure to tip the driver when you order this tanker! Think cool creamy cheesecake, swirls of tart yet sweet lemon curd and a creamy (yes, creamy – even Janet said so) toasted meringue. YUM!

Here she is showing you a little leg…

Next up is Maisa. Now Maisa, pronounced my-ee-suh, didn’t make it into the boxes. She’s a rather immature dessert boasting only flavor right now. I’ve got some work to do with her. She slouches (cannot stand as a full slice of pie), complains (spreads all over the place) and is feisty and hostile with slight anger management issues (threatens to get all over neighboring desserts). So we kept her from the festivities until she can get a hold of herself. Nevertheless, Maisa has a graham cracker crust, a sweet corn and blueberry cream filling, and is topped with softly whipped cream, blueberries, and corn.

Now, this is one of my answers to the non-traditional “I don’t want a regular wedding cake on my dessert table” bride’s conundrum OR the elegant and mature birthday girl’s “Give me something different” cake dilemma. This cake also has milestone wedding anniversary written all over it. Enter Key Largo…

Key Largo, oh yes, Key Largo. There’s a lot going on with Key Largo, but it can be simplified. Key lime poppyseed cake layers, vanilla cream and sweet strawberry filling. It’s topped with flowers and ready for immediate consumption.

She’s showing off. Clap or something.

For my more humble dessert lovers, there is Chopped Chocolate Cookie Dough Cheesecake. Don’t make cheesecakes and not have one of these in your arsenal. I mean really – who doesn’t? It’s a necessity. Supper Club members that love to welcome Sift! to the table – you’re welcome.

My vanilla bean cheesecake houses lots of my famous chopped chocolate cookie dough chunks and even more chopped chocolate. I top with a simple dollop of whipped cream and some chocolate. It’s the little things, people.

Say CHEESE!

High fashion cheesecake photography…

Until next time…back to work…and loving it.
