Coconut-Almond Night Cap

Vegan Healthy Coconut Almond Turmeric Milk Night Cap

Grab these ingredients, and prepare to relax….

Because I have had the opportunity to talk to many of you, and get to know your tastes, I think you’re probably going to return to this healthy treat time and time again. If you don’t already know the joys of coconut turmeric milk, I encourage you to begin.

This tea was made known to me via the name Turmeric Milk some time ago. A friend taught me the basics, and I freestyle every now and again with different spices, but I try not to deviate too much as each spice serves an ayurvedic purpose.

Turmeric is the main spice ingredient and is measured(for the recipe) in about half the amount known to be effective – 500mg daily. The turmeric is a known anti-inflammatory, and has shown potential to counteract various illnesses/diseases, especially auto-immunities, and heart disease. Overall, the drink lowers blood sugar, acts as an anti-inflammatory, boosts immunity, improves mood & memory, and the list goes on.

Aside from the inspiring health benefits of this drink, it really is soothing, and a quick & easy go-to before you slumber. So go on! Drink to your health! Do it now because I will be back with some libations. (teehee)

Note: You can swap the coconut for almond milk, or do half and half, hence the name of the post. However, completely replacing the coconut milk will eliminate some of the drink’s intended benefits.

Lots of Love, y’all.

Course: Drinks
Cuisine: Indian
Keyword: almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, ginger, maple, spices, turmeric
Servings: 2 cups

  • 1 can coconut milk unsweetened
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced and crushed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom ground
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • wee little pinch nutmeg

  • Heat the coconut milk in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • When it reaches a gentle simmer, add all other ingredients and bring to a gentle simmer again.
  • Pour, and enjoy!

A coconut-almond milk mixture is good should the coconut milk alone be too rich. The results is a smooth, and less intense flavor. So simply substitute half the coconut amount for almond milk.
